the World Energy Project

MAKE fans, We would like to introduce you to the World Energy Project. The World Energy Project was started by a group of zealous University of Nebraska - Lincoln students in 2010. The group is a non-profit whose aim is to work with "communities around the world to develop sustainable energy solutions." In their first year of existence they successfully raised enough money to travel to Mali and install a solar panel array for an irrigation system.

Over the past few months, MAKE Collaboration has been working with WEP to create a new identity for their organization.

Food Miles, Emerging Terrain Banner

 Omaha, Nebraska

We've been waiting patiently to officially announce being selected for the Emerging Terrain Stored Potential 2 competition! See Emerging Terrain's blog post announcement here.

See our original post about the initial design and concept. Emerging Terrain expects to put up the banners next summer!

Emerging Terrain Mockup

Last night Erin and I went to a mock-up of the Emerging Terrain shortlisted banners. Six of the shortlisted entries were there (which is about half of the current competition shortlist). It was very impressive to see the banners up close and of course these photos don't really do the actual thing justice.
